In the clear

After a fitful sleep where I kept telling myself: "The phone hasn't rung because Minion has not vomited and they're still observing her..." the vet finally called.

Minion pooped out the object. A little plug of some kind--vet's not sure what it is, she'll show me. She says Minion's eating and grooming and seems happy. I can pick her up at 3PM. The Vaseline did it's job. Thank you Vaseline.

I tell you one thing... that kid's not getting a Christmas tree next December.

My guess is it's something chewy, like the plug that goes on the end of something, though I don't know what. I'll probably be walking through the house at some point and go: Aha! A plugless object!

Le Sigh.

Haley's still sleeping. She had one big playful runaround last night, but other than that I think she's just in deep meditation, marshaling all her forces for the return of Diablotine ( <--the French name Maewitch picked out for Evil.)

As the French would say.... phiouf.

Haley

Haley's just been eating and sleeping all evening. I keep thinking there's something wrong with her. Except... this might just be... what a cat looks like when she isn't being chased by a demon all evening long.

I think this is why I got her a minion in the first place. She looks bored. But what I take for boredom is probably Blissful Solitary Peace and Oneness With the Universe.

I keep worrying she's sick. Except every time I open the fridge she raises her head hopefully, so I don't think she's sick, I think I'm just paranoid.

Run around! Growl! Hiss! Look alive! ...Stop looking like you planted that rubber band and offed your fellow cat!!!

Wicked child.

Life is just one damn PART TROIS

Thanks for the well wishes for Minion.

Unfortunately Fernando had to bring her back to the vet this afternoon. He brought her to our vet since it would be less expensive, and anyway we like her a lot. When she felt Minion's guts she thought she felt a tender part, so still thinks there might be something in there. They force fed her a gob of Vaseline -- ugh!!

She called us at 8:30 PM and said she hadn't vomited, and ate a little bit and didn't throw that up. The vet seemed optimistic-ish. Also she was staying in her cage without rubbing her face raw on it like last time, so they're keeping her overnight. I guess the hope is that if she did eat something she'll poop it out tonight.

I think she also said she might not be eating because she associates it with vomiting and with the whole Generally Unpleasant Experience she's been having. The vet at the DMV had actually said she might vomit a couple more times, that that was normal.

But if she keeps vomiting then tomorrow is surgery day.

So I don't know what's going on, I'm confused, but the vet is optimistic. It's all a bit of a muddle to me now.
