Great video! (Ne-Yo -- One in a Million)


The album I'm most looking forward to this fall is Nicki Minaj's. I love the way she raps, and I love her goofy personality. But for now all I've got is the songs she raps on--and in those, she generally kills it. There's a general consensus that she stole the show from Kanye, Jay Z, Bon Iver and Rick Ross on "Monster":

Kings Of Leon - Radioactive

New Kings of Leon song--quite like it. I don't I have a city or province that really feels like home to me, but I'm off to visit my nuclear family and they're pretty much Where I Came From. Visiting them is generally a recharging experience.

Montreal -> Toronto : Friday midday
Gilby picks up Mabel after work
Drive to Stratford to see Evita at 8.
Drive back to Toronto.

SATURDAY
Drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake to see Ideal Husband at 8.
Drive back to Toronto.

SUNDAY
2 PM play.
Hang out with Vidal and Midnightstreet when he's done work.

MONDAY
Flee the scene with Gilby when he leaves for work.
Toronto -> Nanaimo
Nap.
Hang out with folkses.

TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY - THURSDAY - FRIDAY
* Hang out with Father and Step-muthah.

SATURDAY
Take ferry to Vancouver; or take a day trip to Victoria and then the ferry to Vancouver.
Hang out with mommy & brother, and hang in my coolio hotel room.

SUNDAY - MONDAY - TUESDAY
Live it up at my supa posh hotel.

TUESDAY
Come home. Have some time off before heading back to work.

I went over to Reuters to read a story my mum sent, and there's all kinds of good entertainment news!

* Oprah chose another Johnathan Franzen book to recommend--she apparently wrote him a note first, asking his permission to talk about the book on her show. He agreed, so I guess he grew up a little in the intervening years since The Corrections.

* George Micheal is spending time in jail! Driving while cannabisized.

* Borat's going to play Freddie Mercury in a biopic. Good choice methinks.

* Joaquin Phoenix's silliness a couple years ago on Letterman was, as many guessed, a hoax. I'll have to catch the corresponding mockumentary sometime.

Poor Little Orphan Minion

This isn't the best pic of it because she's not looking directly at the camera (I was using my computer). But Minion is a pro at the Puss n Boots look. More than any cat I've owned.

The Polaris Music Prize is a music award annually given to the best full-length Canadian album based on artistic merit, regardless of genre, sales, or record label. The award was established in 2006 and includes a C$20,000 cash prize. (wiki)

6 days to Gilmabelfest!

Today Fernando was wearing the t-shirt I bought him at Stratford last year. It's a yellow shirt with a bear running across that reads: "Exit, pursued by bear." Famous for being one of Shakespeare's silliest scene directions.

Seeing him in the shirt got me all het up about going to see plaaaays! I've decided I have to buy Fernando a souvenir each year. Maybe a t-shirt each year. Or a tote bag? A mug? Oooooh it's all so veddy veddy exciting.

Just four more days of work. Packing on Thursday.

Gonna go look at flights now.
