stopped
I had to stop at 26 582 and do housecleaning. It wasn't even procrastination, I really did have to tidy up. The concierge called yesterday to say some guy is coming by to check or install a fire thingy? It was a confusing message, because they checked the fire alarms a couple months ago, and ours works fine. So I don't know. I'm going to have to go sleep on the couch so that I'll hear the knock at the door.
But meanwhile I don't care for strangers seeing My Messiness so I had to tidy the livingroom and such. Sigh. Now I'm off to sleep on the couch, and live to write another day.

Procrastination Time
Where was I in November 2006? I was doing a degree in Political Science. It was end of semester stressness. Here's a couple highlights:

Tonight Haley turned into a chocolate soy milk aholic. She got one taste of it from an empty cup, and now I can't keep her away, she's making me mental. No one has ever taught this kid the word NO. My other cats know what it means--what's her problem?? I'm not sure if she hasn't been trained, or if it's just her show-no-fear-take-no-prisoners approach to life.[This post is reassuring. It tells me that Haley was once like Minion, and in theory Minion will one day SLIGHTLY CALM DOWN.]

Fernando has returned from a month long trip to Calgary, where he was emprisoned with a rather un-vocal and clumsy toddler. He was helping out his sister, who just had a baby, and already has a little guy. Fernando's job was to help babysit the toddling one. Needless to say (for those of us who don't want kids, which is 80% of my blog readership) this was an extremely boring month.
He's happy to be back to Never Never Land, where cereal is one of the four food groups, and spending an entire weekend playing video games and watching youtube is considered a Good Use of Time.
I wouldn't go there if I knew the way
Today I went out for sushi with Swiss Girl, then sat with Fernando and chatted awhile, then took a nap, and then read the romance novel I'm reading (it's very good.)
But I still feel reluctant to get back to my story because there are problems with it. It doesn't reeeaaally matter, cause it's just Nano--the point is to ignore the flaws and keep running. But I would at least like to change my direction a bit, and I'm not sure how. The thing is, I've boring-ized my hero. His brother is funnier and stealing the scenes.
The brother character is based on Chappelle--specifically Chappelle when he's doing this kind of screaming-bit. I keep hearing in my head: "Bitch I live in a fucking trashcan! I'm the poorest motherfucker on Sesame Street!" Ohh I lol every time. Chappelle is one of my fave comedians of all time.
Oh well. It's new music Tuesday, so I'm gonna go procrastinate some more before I start. Maybe Kanye will inspire me. I think this new album, from what I've heard so far, will be my fave of his EVER. Oh my days. He is sooooo talented, people need to stop worrying about his craziness and get back to listening to his music. The man's got TALENT. This is an album for the books. So far it has a metacritic score of 98, and the notoriously tough critics at Pitchfork gave it a 10.
"Lost in the World" - it sounds like Kanye West produced by Kate Bush
"Dark Fantasy" - totally beautiful, with a faux-British-Minaj at the beginning
"Power" - "My childlike creativity, purity, and honesty is honestly being crowded by these grown thoughts/ Reality is catching up with me, taking my inner child, I'm fighting for custody."
