Go go go!

Alright. I've watched two movies with Fernando (I -heart- Huckabees, and an episode of Sherlock), I've had my afternoon nap, I've read some blogs, checked my email, added my latest book purchases to myreads, fed the people in my café, procured a cat, and lit a candle. Time to settle in and write!

Is it the new BBC Sherlock with that guy from The Office? I'd kind of like to see that one...

That's the one. You can view them on the PBS website for free at the moment.

Thanks, I'd been looking for it on BBC-America. So, is it good? I mean, even if one is not exactly a huge Sherlock fan? (I've read that it's quite...faithful to the books, except for the contemporary setting bit.)

If you get any BBC channels, may I recommend Luther? With Idris Elba. It's genius. I love it. It's so riveting, I don't really mind the bad BBC production quality...

I'm not following any series at the moment but I'll keep Luther in mind.

It's only six episodes long, fyi. It kinda reminds me of Dexter, and there's a great femme fatale sociopath character played by Ruth Wilson. I always appreciate deviations from the typical Female Romantic Lead, and she's great fun. Gleeful, really, as she goes about plotting revenge and murder... It's definitely less formulaic than Dexter, with the exception, maybe, of the first two episodes (They're the weakest of the series. And it's not really until episode 5 that the series explodes and gets absolutely great.).

The other BBC show I'm following right now is not so great... It's kinda background noise-worthy, at best. It's called I'd Do Anything... In it, Andrew Lloyd Weber and friends judge contestants vying for the roles of Nancy and Oliver in the next West End production of the musical... It is truly the campiest show I've ever seen. Makes the Idol people look like seasoned professionals. All Very High Drama. At the end, they rip the eliminated girl's necklace off her neck as she tearfully climbs up a flight of stairs to sing a Dramatic Rendition of "As Long as He Needs Me."
