Party pooping

Some dude from JetBlue is lamenting the lack of seriousness with which the rant-and-deploy-chute story is getting:

“Slides deploy extremely quickly, with enough force to kill a person,” he wrote. “Slides can be as dangerous as a gun, and that’s the reason we have intensive initial and recurrent training. It is an insult to all aviation professionals to have this particular element of the story treated without the seriousness it deserves.”

Oh come on, stop trying to spoil our fun! It's one of the most enjoyable stories I've read this year, even if it turns out to have happened differently than originally reported. The mental image of an employee telling off customers, then making a dramatic exit--it's... I'm gonna say it... it's awesome.

4 day weekend

Spending the day reading the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels. I'm on #4 of 6. It's nice getting into something after the entire series has come out, cause then--no suspense. Get to read it all in one sitting. Then we're gonna go see the movie on the weekend.

Evil Minion - wreaking havoc since 2010

Stop chewing on mah ear!!! I went for a nap today, and Minion settled herself on my head and started sucking my ear. Fernando had to remove her so I could sleep.

Hard to believe she is sooo evil. Every single knock-downable thing in our home has been knocked down. Luckily it's not too much, because we're quite cat-proof. But Fernando's side table of things is now pretty much all on the floor by now. And my living room garbage gets tipped over daily.

"I shall chew your fingers instead."

What you need after a long day

missing oldy cats

The first full day we had Minion, I really missed Nombly and Sherry. I became conscious of going from my two old boys, to suddenly having two young girls. And then last night I dreamed about Sherry. Sigh. Little Bones, little Nombs.

Return to Meowee East: Minion's favourite toy

So Minion chases Haley all the time now. It goes like this:

- run after big cat
- she hisses
- I hiss
- I lay down on floor to show her I'm only joshing

Every single time. I think Haley is slowly catching on. And loves to be chased so... this may be a case of be careful what you wish for.
